KATHUA: A preliminary meeting of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) was held today in the Conference Hall of the Associated Hospital of Government Medical College Kathu. Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kathua chaired the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Medical Superintendent Dr Sangeeta; Dy CMO Dr Neeraj Nagpa; District Ayush Officer Dr Rakesh Kumar and other heads of departments of the Medical College, besides Executive Engineer, PDD, EO MC and other officers of line departments. The meeting aimed to discuss and address the issues related to the healthcare infrastructure and services in Kathua.
During the meeting, several key issues were discussed including the renovation of the radiology department of Associated Hospital (Old Block) GMC, expansion and up-gradation of MGPS System for SNCU Ward and construction of a waiting shed for Obstetric & Gynaecology patients.
Other issues discussed included the laying of wires and cables for X-ray machine installation, replacement of electrical cables, renovation of the labour room and mortuary and cleaning of septic and water tanks.
The MLA appreciated the efforts of the administration and stakeholders for the achieving outstanding ranking in Public Health Facilities as per NHM. He emphasized the need to maintain this position and directed all stakeholders and line departments to address the discussed issues on priority. The MLA urged everyone to work with zeal for the benefit of the people, ensuring that the healthcare facilities in Kathua continue to provide quality services.
