JAMMU: BJP Jammu & Kashmir State Secretary Pawan Sharma today strongly condemned the disgraceful and irresponsible remarks made against Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during a Congress rally in New Delhi, terming the incident as a direct insult to democracy, the Constitution of India, and the collective mandate of 140 crore Indians.

In a sharp statement, Sharma said that the Prime Minister of India holds a constitutional office earned through the overwhelming democratic will of the people, and any attempt to demean or ridicule that office reflects not only political immaturity but also Congress’s deep-rooted disrespect for democratic institutions.

“Such language and conduct are not political criticism; they are an assault on constitutional dignity. The Congress party, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, has once again exposed its frustration and intolerance by lowering the level of public discourse. Disrespecting the Prime Minister is equivalent to disrespecting the people of India who have repeatedly placed their faith in Modi’s leadership,” Sharma asserted.

He further stated that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has witnessed transformative governance, decisive leadership, and unprecedented global respect. Unable to counter this record of development, national security, and inclusive growth, the Congress leadership—led by Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge—has resorted to cheap theatrics, personal attacks, and verbal abuse.

Pawan Sharma also reminded that democracy thrives on debate, dialogue, and dissent—but strictly within the framework of constitutional values and mutual respect. “Congress’s repeated failure to uphold these values proves that its top leadership has learned nothing from the people’s repeated rejection of its dynastic, divisive, and negative politics,” he said.

Calling upon the Congress high command to act responsibly, Sharma demanded an immediate and unconditional apology from Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and the Congress leadership to the nation. “The country expects accountability, not arrogance. The Congress party must introspect and stop poisoning democratic discourse with hatred and disrespect,” he added.

Sharma reaffirmed that the Bharatiya Janata Party will continue to uphold the sanctity of constitutional offices and stand firm against any forces that attempt to undermine India’s democratic ethos.
