RAMBAN: In line with Deputy Commissioner Ramban Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary's directives, the District Administration conducted Block Diwas programs across all subdivisions to address public grievances. The Block Diwas event took place at Panchayat Parnote-A in Block Ramban, chaired by Additional District Development Commissioner Roshan Lal and Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak. Other officials present included ACD Shrinath Suman, GM DIC Ravinder Anand and representatives from various departments.
The program saw active public participation, with attendees raising issues such as the rehabilitation of families affected by land subsidence in April 2024, registration of eligible beneficiaries under AWAS PLUS for PMAY housing, the establishment of new ration depots and veterinary centers, road maintenance and drinking water supply through tankers during the drought season.
Many grievances were addressed on the spot, with directives issued to relevant departments. The ADDC assured attendees that public interest matters would be prioritised. He noted that immediate relief assistance had already been provided to affected families. Regarding the rehabilitation of land subsidence-affected families, the ADC stated that their cases are under active review. He instructed the BDO and Naib Tehsildar to organize a camp for issuing necessary revenue documents to facilitate PMAY applications.
The Jal Shakti Department was directed to arrange tanker-based water supplies for affected areas and to develop a plan to improve water supply coverage. Additionally, the proposal for new ration depots is in progress. All departments were instructed to deploy field staff to deliver services directly to the public. Similar Block Diwas events were also held in Ramsoo, Banihal and Block Gandhri.
