SRINAGAR: Continuing its drive against persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Police in Awantipora have arrested two persons & seized 02 vehicles. Police party from Police Station Khrew have arrested 02 persons identified as Sajad Ahmad Bhat son of Nazir Ahmad Bhat and Shabir Ahmad Sheikh son of Ali Mohammad Sheikh, both residents of Wuyan and seized two vehicles (Tipper & Dumper) bearing registration numbers JK04A-8335 and JK13G- 9826 involved in illegal extraction of mineral in Khrew.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR NO. 01/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Khrew and investigation has been initiated. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law.
