The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

RAJOURI: The three-day training programme for Census 2027 Phase-I (House Listing Operations) concluded successfully in Rajouri today, marking a significant step towards strengthening the preparedness of field functionaries for the upcoming Census exercise.

The programme was organized by the District Statistics & Evaluation Office, under the guidance of the Directorate of Census Operations, to enhance the capacity and operational efficiency of officers and officials engaged in Census-related activities.

Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, who also serves as the Principal Census Officer for the district, closely monitored the training proceedings throughout the programme. He personally oversaw the knowledge transfer sessions conducted by expert trainers and emphasized the importance of accuracy, diligence and adherence to timelines in the Census process.

On the concluding day, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the overall performance of the participants and interacted with the Census Charge Officers to assess their level of preparedness. To evaluate their understanding and practical skills, he conducted a written assessment followed by a hands-on evaluation on the CMMS Portal, as well as the HLBC and HLO Management Modules.

The written examination was conducted under the close supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner Chander Prakash and District Statistics & Evaluation Officer Sandeep Kumar Sharma, ensuring transparency and fairness in the assessment process.

The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that the Census exercise is a critical national activity that requires utmost dedication and precision. He urged all officers to apply the knowledge gained during the training in the field and work with a sense of responsibility to ensure the successful conduct of Census 2027 in the district.

The participants expressed satisfaction over the comprehensive training and hands-on exposure provided during the sessions, stating that it would greatly aid them in performing their duties effectively.
