The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. JAMMU: BJP leader from Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, Aseem Gupta today called on Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh in New Delhi and discussed several developmental issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir.

During the meeting, Gupta urged the Union Minister to expedite the launch of the much-awaited Jammu–Srinagar Vande Bharat Express, emphasizing its importance for improving connectivity and boosting tourism in the region.

He also demanded the introduction of an additional Vande Bharat Express service between Jammu and Haridwar to cater to the growing number of tourists as well as the pilgrims.

Gupta appreciated the rapid progress on the six-lane expressway corridors being developed under the leadership of Dr Jitendra Singh, stating that these infrastructure projects will significantly enhance regional connectivity and economic growth.

Highlighting the tourism potential of the hilly areas, he further proposed that the scenic Bani region in Kathua district be developed on the pattern of Switzerland to attract tourists and generate employment opportunities.  The meeting focused on accelerating infrastructure development and unlocking the tourism potential of Jammu and Kashmir.
