The program highlighted the pivotal role of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhinta in providing robust legal safeguards against crimes such as domestic violence, sexual harassment, and other forms of gender-based violence.
An overview of key provisions in the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhinta that offer protection and recourse to women was also deliberated upon. These include laws against domestic violence (Section 498A), sexual harassment (Section 354), and dowry-related offences. The session aimed to empower women by informing them of their legal rights and the mechanisms available to protect them.
