In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family
  • Thanks JKPCC Chief and leadership; highlights extensive outreach efforts to unite farmers across J&K

JAMMU: Chairman of JKPCC Kissan Congress, Bharat Priye, today expressed his heartfelt gratitude to JKPCC Chief Tariq Hameed Karra, senior party leaders, and the farming community from across the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir for making the Kissan Sammelan at Nagri in Kathua a grand and historic success.

Describing the Sammelan as a landmark event, Bharat Priye said that the massive participation of farmers from different regions of J&K reflects a renewed faith in the Congress party’s farmer-centric policies and its unwavering commitment towards safeguarding farmers’ rights and livelihoods.

He particularly highlighted the collective efforts that went into organizing the event, stating that the success of the Sammelan was the result of continuous groundwork, coordination, and outreach carried out over several weeks. Bharat Priye himself undertook extensive tours across various districts of Jammu & Kashmir, personally visiting rural belts, interacting with farmers at the grassroots level, and mobilizing their participation to ensure that their voices are heard on a common platform.

These visits were not merely organizational in nature but were aimed at understanding the real challenges faced by our farmers—from rising input costs to inadequate irrigation facilities and lack of remunerative prices. Bringing them together under one roof was essential to build a united voice,” he said.

He further emphasized that the Sammelan served as a powerful platform for farmers to openly discuss their pressing concerns, including issues related to crop insurance, market access, technological support, and financial stability. The enthusiastic response, he noted, reflects the urgency of addressing these concerns in a structured and time-bound manner.

Bharat Priye lauded the dedication of party workers and senior leaders who worked tirelessly at the grassroots level to ensure smooth execution of the event. He said their coordinated efforts played a crucial role in making the Sammelan a truly inclusive and impactful gathering.

Reiterating the party’s commitment, he assured that the Congress will not leave any stone unturned in taking up farmers’ issues at every appropriate forum. “We are fully committed to ensuring that the concerns raised during the Sammelan are systematically compiled and strongly pursued with the concerned authorities for early redressal,” he asserted.

“The Congress party stands shoulder to shoulder with the farming community. Their welfare, dignity, and economic security remain our foremost priority. We will continue to fight for their rights and ensure that their voices translate into concrete policy action,” he added.

He further stated that such outreach initiatives and large-scale interactions will continue in the future to maintain a consistent dialogue with farmers and strengthen policy advocacy aimed at improving agricultural conditions across the Union Territory.Bharat Priye reiterated that under the leadership of Tariq Hameed Karra, the party remains fully dedicated to uplifting the socio-economic condition of farmers and ensuring sustainable agricultural growth in Jammu & Kashmir.
