The Survival Fight of JK Monitor : For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.), who treated me like a brother and mentor. His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

JAMMU: J&K BJP organized a series of programmes including visits to the party veterans, senior citizens, and beneficiaries and felicitating them, as well as holding Gaon Chalo/Basti Chalo Abhiyan, and other programmes marking the 47th Foundation Day of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), reflecting political commitment and social responsibility.

Senior party leaders led by J&K BJP President and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Sat Sharma, and J&K BJP General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, visited the residences of veteran members associated with BJP, Jana Sangh, and Praja Parishad, acknowledging their lifelong dedication and contribution to the party’s ideological foundation.

Sat Sharma, accompanied by District Prabhari Ayodhya Gupta, District President Nand Kishore, and other senior leaders, visited the residences of three respected veterans, centenarian Chanchala Devi, Mohan Lal Gill, and Mohan Lal Gupta. The leaders interacted warmly with the families and expressed gratitude for their unwavering commitment to nationalist ideals.

On the occasion, Sat Sharma stated that the BJP’s Foundation Day is not merely a celebration, but a moment of reflection and gratitude. He said that the party’s strength lies in the sacrifices and dedication of its senior workers and ideologues, whose values continue to guide the present generation. He emphasized that BJP remains committed to public service, inclusive development, and the vision of a strong and self-reliant India.

Similarly, Ashok Koul paid respectful visits to the residences of Jana Sangh and Praja Parishad veterans Sham Lal Sharma and Mukund Lal Sharma at Paloura, where they were honoured for their invaluable contributions.

Ashok Koul, along with BJP Jammu District President Adv. Rajesh Gupta and MLA Jammu East Yudhvir Sethi, also felicitated senior citizens and beneficiaries at Jain Sabha, Kali Janni Basti, Ward No. 4. He also led the “Gaon/Basti Chalo Abhiyaan” at Wards No. 60 and 38 in Paloura, accompanied by local leadership.

Ashok Koul, in his address, reiterated that BJP’s core philosophy revolves around “Seva, Samarpan, and Garib Kalyan.” He said that such programmes strengthen the party’s bond with the grassroots and ensure that welfare initiatives reach the last person in the queue. He stressed that the party remains dedicated to both honouring its legacy and actively serving society with sincerity and commitment.
