KATHUA: District Legal Services Authority, Kathua as per the directions of National Legal Services Authority conducted second Undertrial Review Committee meeting today as per Schedule launched by National Legal Services Authority for conducting UTRC meeting for the year 2024.

The main objective of launch of this Schedule by NALSA is to enhance the efficiency and impact of the UTRC meetings by establishing a fixed quarterly schedule for UTRC meetings during 2024.

The meeting was chaired by Pr. District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman DLSA, Kathua Ashok Kumar Shavan, with the members of Under Trial Review Committee (UTRC) Kathua.

In the meeting, the Committee reviewed cases of eligible UTPs/Prisoners shortlisted by the Secretary, DLSA Kathua for consideration. The Committee considered 12 cases of UTPs/Prisoners out of which 02 cases are recommended for release.

The meeting was attended by Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Kathua, Addl. DC Kathua on behalf of Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, CPO DPO Kathua on behalf of Senior Superintendent of Police Kathua. and the Superintendents of District Jail Kathua.
