The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com
  • Directs time bound completion of approach road, drainage works

ANANTNAG: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Anantnag (Yatra Officer Pahalgam Axis), Dr. Bilal Mohiud Din Bhat today conducted an extensive inspection of the Yatri Niwas at Subhanpora Bijbehara to review the status of infrastructure and preparedness for the upcoming SANJY-2026.  The project, executed under the aegis of ONGC, has the capacity to accommodate 1,500 pilgrims and will be utilized to facilitate the stay of Yatris, as per actual requirement.

On the occasion, the DC took a detailed stock of the macadamization of the approach road being undertaken by the R&B Department, at an approved cost of Rs 41 lakh. It was informed that the work has already been tendered out and physical execution will commence before the holy pilgrimage.

The DC issued on spot directions to the concerned executing agencies to ensure timely completion of approach road and the associated drainage works to prevent any inconvenience to the pilgrims. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining high-quality standards and strict adherence to other guidelines. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), SDM Bijbehara, Executive Engineer (Exen) R&B, and several other officials accompanied the DC during his visit.
