SAMBA:  Deputy Commissioner (DC) Samba Abhishek Sharma on Wednesday chaired a Block Diwas public outreach Camp here in the Community Hall. The event aimed to listen to and resolve issues of the community, promoting the overall welfare and development of the area. The program saw participation of stakeholders across the social spectrum, including ex-PRIs, officers from all line departments and civil society members of the Samba district.

During the Grievance Redressal Camp, numerous public delegations and individuals presented their developmental demands, seeking timely action. Key issues raised included the establishment of a Sabzi Mandi at Samba, parking facility in Samba for vehicles moving towards the border area, construction of roads from Kandi to Ambtali and Chak to Sadralia road, augmentation of water supply to wards of Panchayat Diana, playfield in Panchayat Diani, seating arrangement in District Hospital near OPD, easing of traffic congestion in Samba town, ring road for Samba town and check on unscheduled electricity cuts.

The public appreciated the facility of a WhatsApp number provided by the District Administration for registering their grievances for redressal. They also lauded the decision of holding Block Diwas for the resolution of grievances of the general public. DC Abhishek Sharma assured the public that the District Administration would actively support the development of the area. He promised that all issues and demands would be forwarded to the concerned authorities for timely redressal. He directed the concerned departments to submit an action taken report within two days.

Several immediate concerns were resolved on the spot, with the DC emphasizing the administration's commitment to streamlining public service delivery. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to identify and approve additional developmental projects. Simultaneously, weekly Block Diwas camps were organized at all subdivision levels within the Samba district, where respective sub-divisional heads presided over the functions, listening to and addressing the grievances of the people.
