REASI: District Development Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek today chaired a meeting to review the progress and implementation of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and the Jammu and Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement Project (JKCIP) in the district.

The DDC undertook a detailed review of the achievements and implementation status of the twin initiatives, with emphasis on farmer welfare, adoption of modern agricultural practices, enhancement of productivity and strengthening of the agriculture and allied sectors. He also reviewed ongoing activities, farmer registration, awareness campaigns and the delivery of benefits to eligible beneficiaries.

The DDC directed the concerned officers to regularly monitor all units established under the initiatives to assess their functioning, ensure effective utilisation and evaluate the benefits being extended to farmers. He also approved cases under JKCIP and stressed the need for timely processing of eligible cases to ensure that farmers receive the intended assistance without unnecessary delays.

Emphasising the importance of awareness and outreach, the DDC directed the officers to intensify publicity regarding the various components of HADP and ensure that farmers across the district are adequately informed about the schemes, eligibility criteria and available benefits. He called for close coordination among the concerned departments to address implementation-related issues, expedite pending cases and ensure that the benefits of both initiatives reach the intended beneficiaries.

He underscored the need for sustained monitoring, effective field-level implementation and regular follow-up to maximise the impact of the programmes and promote sustainable growth, improved productivity and economic prosperity in the agriculture and allied sectors.

Additional District Development Commissioner Krishan Lal, Chief Planning Officer Narinder Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Development Mukesh Sharma, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
