DODA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Harvinder Singh today inaugurated a Hydroponic Unit established under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) scheme here at village Nashala, Bijarni. The unit has been set up by beneficiary Shivali Rana, with a total project cost of Rs. 5 lakh, including a subsidy of Rs. 2.5 lakh.

The project has been implemented by the Animal Husbandry Department, as part of the government’s efforts to promote modern and sustainable agricultural practices in the district. Hydroponics, a soil-less farming technique, is expected to enhance fodder production, ensuring better nutrition for livestock and boosting farmers’ income.

The DC emphasized the importance of adopting innovative agricultural methods to improve productivity and sustainability. He appreciated the efforts of the Animal Husbandry Department in supporting farmers through progressive schemes like HADP. The event was attended by the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Doda, Dr. Mayan ud Din, along with former Sarpanches, Panches, and other senior citizens of the area.
