RAJOURI: The District Administration Rajouri, on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma and in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM) organized a special event here today at Salani Bus Stand to provide Self-Help Groups (SHG)s, a platform to showcase and sell their products. The initiative also sought to raise awareness among the general public regarding the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) scheme and to mobilize and encourage the maximum number of eligible persons to join and benefit from the program.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from SHG members, who displayed a variety of locally made products, ranging from handicrafts to organic goods. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of such platforms in enhancing the economic independence of SHG members and creating opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.

Adding a festive spirit to the occasion, Lohri was celebrated with the SHG members and the public. Traditional songs, dances, and the lighting of the Lohri bonfire marked the celebrations, creating a vibrant atmosphere and fostering community engagement. The event highlighted the District Administration's commitment to empowering rural women through livelihood opportunities and community participation. Efforts are being made to extend such initiatives to other areas, ensuring widespread benefits under the NRLM scheme.
