GANDERBAL: The registration deadline for admission to various Post-Graduate (PG) programmes offered by the Central University of Kashmir, through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-PG) 2025, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) has been extended.

As per the revised schedule, the online application process, initially set to close on February 1, 2025, has been extended until February 8, 2025 (11:50 PM). Similarly, the deadline for the final fee transaction is now February 9, 2025, and the correction window for application particulars will be open from February 10 to February 12, 2025.

The PG programmes include: M.Tech Computer Science & Engineering, M.A. English, M.A. Urdu, M.Com, M.A. Mass Communication & Journalism, M.A. Economics, M.A. Political Science, LLM, M.Ed., Integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed, M.P.Ed, M.A. Islamic Studies, M.Sc. Botany, M.Sc. Chemistry, M.Sc. Zoology (Lateral Entry), M.Sc. Biotechnology (Lateral Entry), M.Sc. Physics (Lateral Entry) and M.Sc. Mathematics (Lateral Entry). When he appointed me Editor-in-Chief of JK Monitor, he never treated me as an employee, but as a younger brother, offering warmth, trust, respect and invaluable guidance. I will always be grateful for his faith in me, his encouragement and the lessons he shared.

Dr. Ranjan was a rare and noble soul—humble, compassionate, intellectually brilliant and always willing to help others. A visionary thinker, he believed in using knowledge and abilities to make a meaningful difference. His influence lives on through the people he guided, the work he inspired and the countless lives he touched.

For me, he will always be the elder brother who believed in me and guided me with affection. I will cherish his kindness and lessons forever. May his soul rest in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

We at JK Monitor are profoundly saddened by the sudden demise of our Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan. IN LOVING MEMORY Dr Priya Ranjan

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
