JAMMU: Civil Judge Sr. Division/Secretary, DLSA Jammu Maleeka Sharma today visited the Prison Legal Aid Clinic at District Jail Amphalla Jammu. The visit aimed to ensure effective implementation of legal aid services in the jail.

During the visit, the functioning of the Legal Aid Clinic was thoroughly inspected. She checked the records maintained by Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) and reviewed applications for legal aid submitted by inmates. The applications were scrutinized and necessary directions were issued for timely processing of pending legal aid applications, proper maintenance of records and expeditious grievance redressal of inmates.

She also visited the Medical Block of the jail and interacted with the doctors on duty regarding the health and well-being of the inmates. She emphasized that proper medical care and hygiene should be ensured for all inmates.
