The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

AWANTIPORA: SSP Awantipora conducted an interaction session with newly posted Probationary Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) at District Police Lines Awantipora, marking the commencement of their field training phase.

Welcoming the trainees, the SSP emphasised that effective policing is best learned through field experience. He apprised them of the operational dynamics and challenges of the Police district, underscoring the need for a professional approach while dealing with law & order situations, crime investigation, terrorism-related issues, and public grievances.

During the session, SSP Awantipora highlighted the fundamental values of policing discipline, integrity, and commitment to public service. He advised the officers to maintain high standards of conduct, strictly adhere to the chain of command, and uphold the dignity and honour of the uniform.

Emphasising professional competence, the SSP directed the trainees to focus on conducting quality investigations, ensuring proper handling of evidence, and maintaining accurate and comprehensive case documentation.

He further encouraged the officers to adopt a continuous learning mindset, seek mentorship from senior officers, and develop sound judgement and decision-making skills while addressing real-time challenges in the field.

The session concluded with an interactive discussion, enabling the trainees to gain clarity on their roles, responsibilities, and expectations in the policing framework of the district. Senior officers including Addl. SP Awantipora, SDPOs, DySP DAR, DySP SOGs, and SHOs of Police District Awantipora were present on the occasion.
