JAMMU: Sushil Singh Charak, a Prominent Social Activist and Founder cum General Secretary, Nations Development Association (NDA), has urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to grant age relaxation and address open merit concerns for Jammu and Kashmir Police Constable applicants.
Charak has requested a 3-year age relaxation for all applicants, allowing individuals who have attained the age of 18 or more by July 1, 2024, to apply for the constable posts. This relaxation would help address the critical issue of unemployment in the region and provide opportunities for the youth.
"The youth of Jammu and Kashmir have been eagerly waiting for this recruitment opportunity, but the stringent age criteria pose a significant barrier for many deserving candidates," Charak said. "Granting a 3-year age relaxation would ensure that those who have attained the age of 18 or more by July 1, 2024, are eligible to apply for the constable posts."
Charak also highlighted the pressing need to address the shrinking number of open merit seats, which reduces chances for aspirants. He called for a fairer recruitment system to ensure that all candidates have an equal opportunity to serve their community.
"I urge the Lieutenant Governor and the recruiting agency to consider this appeal and take prompt action in favor of the youth," Charak said. "This age relaxation will not only help alleviate the unemployment crisis but also strengthen the police force with motivated and qualified individuals."
