In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family
  • New institution aims to improve job readiness among commerce graduates and prepare talent for 16 million finance jobs by 2030

MUMBAI: IPO Bound-Imarticus Learning, one of India’s leading professional education companies, has announced the launch of the Imarticus School of Finance & Business (ISFB)  the country’s first institution dedicated to building job-ready finance talent.

Every year, India produces over a million commerce graduates, but less than 10 percent are considered ready for finance roles. Most lack exposure to modern tools, applied learning, and global best practices even as the demand for finance professionals is expected to grow to 16 million jobs by 2030 across banking, fintech, and investment sectors.

“India doesn’t lack graduates  it lacks graduates who are ready for the changing finance industry,” said Nikhil Barshikar, Founder of Imarticus Learning and Chairman of ISFB’s Advisory Council. “ISFB was created to fix that. We’ve built a school where learning is practical, industry-led, and globally relevant.”

Located at Hiranandani Knowledge Park in Powai, Mumbai, ISFB will start with a three-year Bachelor’s in Finance & Business and will soon add an 11-month Postgraduate Programme in Global Finance & AI.

The school’s teaching model, called R.E.A.L. (Reflect, Experience, Apply, Learn), focuses on hands-on learning instead of rote education. Students will take part in global immersions in Singapore with SP Jain School of Global Management, bootcamps at IIM Visakhapatnam, and grassroots projects under the Explore India Mission. Practical training includes trading labs, M&A simulations, and industry case studies led by experts from IIMs, ISB, and Ivy League institutions.

ISFB has tied up with Ambit (Investment Banking), Motilal Oswal (Asset & Wealth Management), and Cognizant (Digital Finance & AI) to design industry-focused courses and projects.

A ₹25 crore venture fund, created in partnership with BLinC Invest, will provide seed funding to student startups. For students planning to study abroad, ISFB has partnered with Ambitio, an AI-led platform that helps applicants apply to top global B-schools such as NYU, Cambridge, and MIT.

Joy Parekh will lead the school as CEO. The Advisory Council, co-chaired by Ajay Srinivasan, former CEO of Aditya Birla Capital, brings together leaders from banking, consulting, and academia, including Ajay Rajan (Yes Bank), Ravindra Pandey (State Bank of India), Garima Batra (BCG), Vikas Khattar (Ambit), and Dr. Avantika Tomar (EY-Parthenon).

“Finance today is evolving fast with technology, AI, and globalisation,” said Ajay Srinivasan. “To keep pace, we need professionals who are trained in both finance and digital skills. ISFB is built to create that kind of talent.”

Over the past decade, Imarticus Learning has trained more than 7.5 lakh learners, placed 50,000+ professionals, and built a network of over 3,500 hiring partners. This experience now forms the foundation of ISFB’s academic and career programs.

With its mix of academic depth, practical learning, and strong industry links, ISFB aims to create a new generation of finance professionals who are ready for both Indian and global opportunities.

About the Imarticus School of Finance & Business (ISFB)
The Imarticus School of Finance & Business (ISFB) is India’s first dedicated finance school designed to close the gap between academic learning and industry readiness. Built on the legacy of Imarticus Learning, a pioneer that has trained over 7,50,000 learners and placed 50,000+ professionals in Fortune 500 companies, ISFB offers Bachelors and Postgraduate programa that combine academic depth with global exposure, practitioner-led mentorship, and applied industry experience.

At the heart of ISFB is its proprietary R.E.A.L. pedagogy (Reflect, Experience, Apply, Learn), ensuring that students not only study finance but also live it. With deep specialisations in investment banking, fintech, digital finance, and global accounting (CFA and ACCA-integrated), ISFB prepares graduates to thrive in a skill-first era. Backed by partnerships with top institutions like Ambit, Motilal Oswal, and Cognizant, as well as a distinguished Advisory Council of industry and academic leaders, ISFB is uniquely positioned to build the next generation of finance professionals who are globally relevant, future-focused, and real-world ready.
