MP Gulam Ali discusses law & order, FRA implementation with Amit Shah, hails Modi Govt for restoring peace in J&K, urges faster execution of schemes

NEW DELHI: Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Er. Gulam Ali Khatana, met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and discussed key issues related to Jammu and Kashmir, including the law and order situation and the implementation of central government schemes in the Union Territory.

During the meeting, MP Khatana lauded the efforts of the Union government in restoring peace in J&K, particularly in Kashmir, where incidents of stone pelting and strike calls have become a thing of the past. He highlighted the significant improvement in security and the growing influx of tourists as indicators of stability and development in the region.

The MP also emphasized the need for the speedy implementation of centrally sponsored schemes to accelerate development in J&K. He urged the Home Minister to ensure the effective execution of these schemes to benefit the people at the grassroots level.

A key issue discussed was the implementation of the Forest Rights Act (FRA) in Jammu and Kashmir. Khatana stressed the importance of granting rights to forest dwellers and ensuring their welfare in accordance with the provisions of the act.

Expressing gratitude to Amit Shah and the Modi government, Khatana appreciated the continuous efforts to bring normalcy and economic prosperity to J&K. He reaffirmed his commitment to working for the welfare of the people and ensuring the successful implementation of government initiatives in the region.

He urged the Home Minister to enhance communication between the people of J&K and the administration. “There is a gap between the administration and the public, and efforts must be made to bridge it. The administration should take steps to reach out to the masses,” he said. He also requested the Home Minister to prioritize local youth in various ongoing projects in J&K to create more job opportunities for them.
