JAMMU: Pawan Sharma, BJP State Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir, has wholeheartedly welcomed the unveiling of PRAHAAR, India’s first-ever comprehensive National Counter-Terrorism Policy and Strategy by the Government of India.

Describing the move as historic, decisive, and long overdue, Pawan Sharma stated that PRAHAAR represents a major leap forward in strengthening India’s national security architecture and ensuring a coordinated, future-ready response to evolving terror threats.

He said that terrorism remains one of the gravest challenges to global peace and stability, and India—having endured decades of cross-border terrorism—has consistently demonstrated resilience and resolve. “With PRAHAAR, India has sent a clear message that there will be zero tolerance towards terrorism in any form,” he added.

Pawan Sharma emphasized that the policy will enhance synergy among intelligence agencies, security forces, and law enforcement institutions while streamlining preventive, operational, and investigative mechanisms. He noted that an integrated strategy is critical in addressing modern threats such as radicalization, cyber-enabled terror networks, terror financing, and hybrid warfare tactics.

Highlighting the significance for Jammu and Kashmir, Pawan Sharma remarked that the region has suffered immensely due to terrorism sponsored from across the border. He expressed confidence that PRAHAAR will further reinforce counter-terror capabilities, improve intelligence coordination, and ensure stronger protection for civilians.

He also lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the efforts of the Ministry of Home Affairs under the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah for consistently prioritizing national security and adopting a firm, uncompromising stance against terror.

“India today is more secure, more confident, and more determined than ever before. Policies like PRAHAAR demonstrate the government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of the nation,” Pawan Sharma said.

He further added that a structured national counter-terrorism framework will not only strengthen internal security but also enhance India’s standing as a global leader in counter-terror cooperation.

Pawan Sharma concluded by stating that the people of Jammu and Kashmir, along with the entire nation, stand firmly with every measure that strengthens peace, stability, and security.
