JAMMU: A plantation drive was held at Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute’s (JKEDI), Bari Brahmana campus under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign here on Friday. The initiative marked a significant step in JKEDI’s commitment to environmental sustainability along with engaging the community for a better J&K.
The plantation drive was organized in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Forest Department, Social Forestry Range, Vijaypur. The participants included the interns, staff and officials of JKEDI.
Speaking on the occasion, Director JKEDI, Rajinder Kumar Sharma, emphasized on the role of such drives in making a positive impact on our environment. He stressed that such plantation drives were a testament of JKEDI towards promoting a greener J&K. He urged the staff and the interns to make their contribution towards such initiatives.
The interns of Cluster University Jammu, undergoing internship program at JKEDI enthusiastically planted the tree saplings and pledged for raising the environmental awareness and contribution towards the ecological balance of the Jammu & Kashmir. This effort marks the continued approach of JKEDI in promoting environmental sustainability and fostering a sense of community and responsibility among the youth of J&K.
