SRINAGAR: The Forest department has commenced supply of firewood to the registered mosques and other institutions at PC Depot, Qamarwari, Srinagar for the upcoming winter.

The  vehicles laden with firewood were formally flagged of at PC Depot Srinagar today by Divisional Forest Officer, Urban Forestry Division Dr. Sheikh Mehraj  in presence of Range Officer, Timber Transport Range and Range Officer, Central Forest Control Room, Srinagar.

The Chief Conservator of Forests, Kashmir directed the Divisional Forest Officer, Urban Forestry Division, Srinagar to accelerate the process of distribution of firewood and ensure the process is completed well before the onset of winters. 

Accordingly, all the registered mosques of Srinagar City and other units have been informed to approach the Range Officer, Timber Transport Range, PC Depot. Qamarwari, Srinagar with their indent through proper channel. The representatives of the mosques have also been advised to book their indents by or before December 20, 2025, after which no applications shall be  accepted by the Department.
