The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com
  • Chairman DLSA Jammu inaugurates stalls

JAMMU: As part of the ongoing Legal Services Week celebration, District Legal Services Authority, Jammu under the guidance of Principal District & Sessions Judge (DLSA Chairman) Tahir Khurshid Raina and under the supervision of Civil Judge (Senior Division)-DLSA Secretary, Maleeka Sharma, today organised an Exhibition-cum-Sale of products made by the inmates of Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal and District Jail Amphalla here at District Court Complex.

The stalls were inaugurated by the DLSA Chairman Tahir Khurshid Raina, in presence of Secretary DLSA Maleeka Sharma, Judicial Officers, Advocates, litigants and court staff. A wide range of products prepared by the inmates inside the jails, including candles, bedsheets, furniture items, bakery items and other handicraft items were displayed for the sale.

The exhibition aimed to showcase the skills of the inmates, encouraging their rehabilitation and reintegration into society and providing them a platform to become self-reliant. Judicial Officers, Advocates, Litigants, Court staff and public visited the stalls and purchased the items, thereby extending their support and encouragement to the inmates.

The Secretary DLSA appreciated the efforts of the Jail Authorities for the initiative. “Such programmes not only help in skill development of inmates but also instill confidence and a sense of dignity among them, which is essential for their reformation and successful reintegration into mainstream society,” she noted.
