  • We don’t believe in selling sentiments, but addressing to the sentiments of the people: Andrabi

SRINAGAR: Newly constructed Noor Khana was inaugurated today by the Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi at the famous shrine of Peer Dastgir Sahib at Khanyar in Srinagar.

She was accompanied by the Board members Dr Ghulam Nabi Haleem, Syed Mohammad Hussain Haqqani, Executive Magistrate of the Board Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin and the Executive Engineer Qazi Mushtaq and others. Dr Andrabi also inaugurated Ladies Sanitary Complex also on the occasion.

Both the infrastructural projects were completed by the Board within the allocated time frame. Addressing a very impressive gathering on the occasion, Waqf Chairperson said that the work done by us during the past three years has set a higher standard for us too and public expectations have increased manifold during the past some years after the Board ensured transparency and accountability with the Board.

“We don’t believe in selling sentiments, but addressing the sentiments of the people. We are committed to create the needed infrastructure at all shrines under the management of the Board at all costs with transparency and accountability”, said Dr Darakhshan.

She said that the construction of the Noor Khana here was a dream project which has now been completed by the Board and it gives immense pleasure to all of us. “In addition to Noor Khana, we today inaugurated a sanitary complex for females in the shrine complex which was needed a lot here. Waqf Board is continuing its developmental mission without any break throughout Jammu and Kashmir despite hurdles from those with vested interests”, said Dr Andrabi.
