SRINAGAR: Social Welfare Department (SWD)– SANKALP Hub for Empowerment of Women Srinagar organized a one-day awareness programme on skill development, vocational training, and financial inclusion at Government College for Women, M.A. Road, Srinagar, today. The programme aimed to equip students with essential knowledge and practical skills to support their future career aspirations. It brought together students and members of the SANKALP-HEW team, who provided valuable insights into a wide range of vocational training opportunities and skill development initiatives.

The sessions were designed to enhance employability, foster entrepreneurial thinking, and prepare students to meet the evolving demands of today’s job market. Experts highlighted various pathways through which young women can build sustainable careers and achieve economic independence. A major highlight of the event was the session on financial inclusion. Participants were sensitized to the importance of financial literacy, access to banking services, digital financial transactions, and awareness of government schemes aimed at economic empowerment. The speakers emphasized that financial independence is a key driver of both personal and professional growth, especially for women.

The programme also featured interactive sessions, enabling students to engage directly with resource persons and gain practical insights into diverse career options. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the organizers and the enthusiastic participation of students, making the programme both meaningful and impactful.
