BHADERWAH: The Child Helpline Desk Bhaderwah, under Mission Vatsalya of the Department of Social Welfare, conducted an awareness campaign against child labour at various locations across Bhaderwah, including Sarna Panchayat, Sungli Panchayat and Athkar Panchayat, Sartingal. The campaign successfully concluded with the objective of sensitising the public about child protection and promoting Child Helpline Number 1098.

During the campaign, the locals were sensitised about the harmful effects of child labour, the importance of safeguarding children's rights and the need to ensure access to education, care and protection for every child. The initiative emphasised that children should be encouraged to learn, grow and pursue their dreams rather than being subjected to labour and exploitation.

Special emphasis was laid on promoting Child Helpline 1098, a toll-free, 24×7 service for children in distress and those requiring care and protection. The public was urged to remain vigilant and report cases of child labour, abuse, exploitation or any other situation in which a child may require assistance and encouraged to work collectively towards ensuring that no child is deprived of education, dignity and a happy childhood. The campaign highlighted the importance of community participation in preventing child labour and creating a safe, supportive and child-friendly environment.
