JAMMU: A special event was organized by the Department of Hindi and Other Indian Languages at the Central University of Jammu to mark the birth anniversary of Acharya Ramchandra Shukla. The event was organized by the department’s Research Coordination Committee, under the inspiration of the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, and with the support of the Dean of the School of Languages, Prof. Bharat Bhushan.

At the outset, the Head of the Department, Dr. Shashikant Mishra, along with the event coordinator Dr. Ratnesh Kumar Yadav, and faculty members Dr. Vandana Sharma, Dr. Arvind Kumar Yadav, and Dr. Anita Devi, paid tribute to Acharya Ramchandra Shukla by garlanding his portrait. In his address, the Head of the Department highlighted Acharya Ramchandra Shukla’s significant contributions to the enrichment of the world of Hindi literature.

He remarked that the life of Acharya Ramchandra Shukla is like an open book, from which we can draw inspiration. Event coordinator Dr. Ratnesh Kumar Yadav noted that the writings of the literary luminary Acharya Ramchandra Shukla have profoundly stirred the collective consciousness. From his own era to the present day, the creative genius of Acharya Ramchandra Shukla—much like that of Premchand—has sparked a revolution in the realm of Hindi literature.

Research scholar Harshit Tiwari presented an analysis of the idealistic dimensions in Acharya Ramchandra Shukla’s work, describing him as a timeless figure whose pen elevated various genres within Hindi literature to a sublime level. He also shed light on Acharya Ramchandra Shukla’s thoughts on poetics. Furthermore, research scholars Anshu Kumari, Shivam, and Harsh Bhardwaj engaged in a detailed discussion on Acharya Ramchandra Shukla’s essays, specifically "Kavita Kya Hai" (What is Poetry?) and his reflections on "Shraddha-Bhakti" (Reverence and Devotion). All the participating research scholars and students paid their heartfelt tributes to Acharya Ramchandra Shukla.
