The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

BANDIPORA: With an aim to promote the overall development, learning and recreational well-being of children, the District Child Protection Unit Bandipora, under Mission Vatsalya, organised a one-day exposure tour for children residing in Child Care Institutions.

The children visited Bagh-e-Gul-e-Dawood (Chrysanthemum Garden), where they got an opportunity to explore the beautiful surroundings, appreciate nature and enjoy recreational activities.

The exposure tour was organised to provide children with an opportunity to explore new places, gain practical knowledge, interact with their surroundings and enjoy recreational activities beyond the institutional environment.

District Child Protection Officer Bandipora, Bashir Ahmad Malik, said that such exposure tours play a significant role in the overall growth and development of children, particularly those residing in Child Care Institutions.

He said that every child deserves opportunities to learn, explore, participate in social activities and experience a healthy and joyful childhood. He further emphasised that the objective of Mission Vatsalya is not only to ensure the care and protection of children but also to create a supportive environment for their emotional, educational, social and psychological development.

He also added that department remains committed to organising more such educational, recreational and exposure activities for children of Child Care Institutions so that they can develop confidence, broaden their horizons and become responsible members of society.

The children expressed happiness and enthusiasm over the tour, describing it as an enjoyable and memorable experience. The initiative is part of the continued efforts under Mission Vatsalya to ensure the protection, welfare, rehabilitation and holistic development of children in need of care and protection.
