JAMMU: On the eve of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, celebrating and honouring the Indian National Flag as a symbol of our national pride, a specially curated exhibition is being organised by the Department of Archives, Archaeology and Museums, J&K from August 12-2026 to August 15-2026 at Dogra Art Museum Archival Repository behind Kala kendra, Bikram Chowk and Art Gallery, Old Secretariat, Shergarhi Complex, Srinagar, showcasing the history of the Indian National Flag - Tiranga along with its fascinating journey.
The exhibition offers a glimpse into the evolution of the Tiranga and the journey that led to its adoption. It will also take visitors through the adoption of the Ashoka Chakra to some important moments in its history. Visitors will get to discover rare archival photographs and stories linked to the Tiranga, including its hoisting at Port Blair, its first raising at Parliament, its journey to the snowy heights of Mount Everest and its presence at Tololing peak of Ladakh by our National Warriors. The exhibition will also showcase inspiring moments where the Indian National Flag has travelled beyond borders and become a symbol of India’s pride and achievement.
