RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma chaired a meeting of the District Task Force for Immunization at the Conference Hall of the DC Office, Rajouri, to discuss and finalise arrangements for the smooth conduct of Immunization Day (Pulse Polio) in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized giving top priority to transit sites and special vulnerable areas, including slums, brick kilns, construction sites, industrial areas, and other high-footfall locations such as Abdullah Bridge, Salani, stone crusher zones and children’s parks. He stressed that no child should be left out of the immunization drive.

The DC also directed special attention towards residential hostels, including Palash, to ensure complete coverage of eligible children. To ensure wide public participation, the DC laid stress on intensive publicity through print and electronic media, organization of awareness rallies ahead of Polio Immunization Day and playing of awareness jingles on municipal vehicles. He further directed the preparation of micro-plans for vulnerable and hard-to-reach areas.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed for real-time monitoring of the immunization drive through the District Control Room, proper training of vaccinators and effective coordination among all concerned departments. To facilitate smooth operations, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) was directed to ensure adequate transportation facilities, while the Traffic Department was tasked with ensuring smooth traffic regulation on the day of immunization.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners, Chief Medical Officer, Tehsildars, Block Medical Officers (BMOs), other district and sectoral officers, who were directed to work in close coordination to ensure the successful implementation of the Pulse Polio Immunization programme across the district.
