- DC Shopian calls for comprehensive coverage of eligible beneficiaries
SHOPIAN: A training program for District Surveyors was held today at Shopian by Department of Rural development Shopian in order to prepare them for the survey and roll out of PMAY-G 2.0. The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar emphasized the need for comprehensive coverage of eligible beneficiaries under the scheme and asked for extra efforts for bridging the housing gaps in rural areas.
The training program covered topics such as beneficiary selection, uploading mechanism of beneficiaries data, self survey and assisted Survey mechanism, etc. District Surveyors shall play a crucial role in implementing the scheme, and the training program is aimed to enhance their skills and knowledge.
The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) aims to provide affordable housing to rural poor. The scheme has been revised, and PMAY-G 2.0 will focus on constructing 1 crore more rural houses. It was intimated that self survey by applicants is going on the portal of PMAY where the applicants have to themselves apply for their inclusion under the scheme. ACD Shopian, DPO Shopian, DIO Shopian and other officials were also present on the occasion.
