- Calls for timely completion and scheme saturation
KATHUA: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner took a sector-wise review of achievements made so far and emphasized the need for completing all approved projects within the stipulated timelines. He directed the implementing agencies to expedite execution with effective monitoring at the field level.
Detailed discussions were held on multiple projects being implemented under agriculture and allied sectors including Millet and Nutritional Cereals, Farm Mechanisation, Mushroom Production, Promotion of Oilseeds, Integrated Farming, Commercial Floriculture, Rainfed Area Development, Rejuvenation of Orchards, Dairy Development, Mutton Production, Poultry, Fodder Development, Fish Seed and Trout Farm development, Sericulture development, establishment of Kisan Khidmat Ghars and other related initiatives. The progress of components pertaining to Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Apiculture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Cooperatives were reviewed in detail.
The Deputy Commissioner laid special focus on giving further push to the ongoing works and achieving complete saturation of HADP interventions within the allotted time. He also called for aggressive capacity building of farming communities to enhance awareness, adoption of modern practices and optimum utilization of the benefits under the programme.
The Lead District Manager and representatives of banks were asked to proactively intervene for timely disposal of eligible cases of applicants aspiring to avail benefits under various HADP schemes.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Surinder Mohan Sharma; Chief Planning Officer, Ranjit Thakur; Lead District Manager and officers of Agriculture and allied departments were present in the meeting.
