UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai on Saturday chaired a meeting of the District Level Committee and Block Level Implementation team to formulate a plan for implementing the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh; PO Poshan Subash Dogra; Chief Planning Officer Mohammad Iqbal; Assistant Commissioner Development Dr. Ranjit Singh Kotwal; Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Tanvir Wani; District Social Welfare Officer Kanika Gupta; Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anil Manhas; Chief Education Officer, Block Development officers and other concerned officers.
PO ICDS Subash Dogra provided a detailed briefing on the background, vision, objectives and goals of the scheme. He emphasized the initiative's focus on improving the socio-economic and infrastructural conditions in ST villages.
While addressing the meeting, DC stressed the need for a holistic and inclusive development plan for the eight identified ST villages in the district. She directed all departments to work collaboratively, ensuring the integration of resources and programs to achieve sustainable development in these areas.
The DC emphasized prioritizing key sectors such as education, healthcare, livelihood generation, infrastructure development and social welfare. She urged officers to focus on measurable outcomes to uplift the living standards of the tribal population and ensure their equitable growth.
