UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai today chaired the District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee meeting here at Mini Conference Hall DC Office Complex Udhampur. The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh; PO Poshan Subhash Chander Dogra; Assistant Commissioner Development Dr. Ranjit Singh Kotwal; Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anil Manhas; Chief Education Officer, Block Development Officers and State Project Manager UIDAI through virtual mode & other concerned officers.
The DC reviewed the current status of Aadhaar enrolment across 0-5 years, 5-18 years and above 18 years categories. During the meeting, she inquired about the challenges in achieving 100% Aadhaar enrolment for the 0-5 year age group. PO Poshan Nodal Officer Aadhaar saturation highlighted delays in Aadhaar enrolment caused due to late issuance of birth certificates in favour of the newly born children.
To address this issue, the DC directed the Chief Medical Officer to establish a facilitation center at hospitals for the early registration of the details of the newly born children on the portal for issuance of birth certificates by the concerned registrars. She also instructed CEOs of Municipal Committees & Block Development Officers to ensure timely approval and issuance of birth certificates with minimal delays.
The Chief Education Officer was directed to conduct a survey in schools to identify students without Aadhaar cards and prepare a roster for organizing camps for Aadhaar enrolment and updation. The DC emphasized to sensitize the general public regarding mandatory Aadhaar updates of all those persons to update their Aadhaar cards issued 10 years ago. DC called for collaborative efforts among all stakeholders to overcome existing bottlenecks & achieving saturation in Aadhaar enrolment in the district.
