KATHUA: The J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) Kathua office organized a one-day awareness programme at village Saida, block Hiranagar, aimed at sensitizing unemployed youth about various self-employment schemes implemented by the Board.
The focus was on the Prime Ministerâs Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and J&K Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP), which provide financial assistance to unemployed youth and artisans for establishing their own ventures.
The programme witnessed participation from representatives of various departments and banks, including Nodal Officer JKEDI Dheeraj Handoo, Branch Head of JK Bank Kootah, a representative from the Lead District Manager's office Kathua, former Sarpanchs, Panches of the area, and a large number of unemployed youths.
Welcoming the participants, District Officer J&K KVIB Kathua, Surinder Paul Sharma, elaborated on the schemes offered by the KVIB. He provided detailed guidance on applying for financial assistance under PMEGP and JKREGP, explaining the procedures and requirements involved in the process.
During the event, sanction letters were distributed to newly approved entrepreneurs who had secured financial assistance from various banks, marking the beginning of their entrepreneurial journey.
