KATRA: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) conducted an 8-days Online Training Program on National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 Orientation & Sensitization under the UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC). The program saw enthusiastic participation from Faculty Members across the country with 136 faculty members registered on the official portal UGC-MMTTC. The program was inaugurated by Prof. Supran K. Sharma, Director, MMTTC-SMVDU; Prof. Sharada M. Potukuchi, Deputy Director, MMTTC-SMVDU, Dr. Anil K. Bhardwaj, Member, MMTTC-SMVDU and Dr. Kamaldeep, Member, MMTTC-SMVDU, who stressed the importance of implementation of NEP 2020 in India's higher education system.
Prof. Sharma emphasized upon the participating Faculty Members to embrace its comprehensive, encompassing and multidisciplinary perspective and implement the ideas shared by the resource persons in their day-to-day teaching methodology. Dr. Anil K. Bhardwaj, Coordinator of the Program and Dr. Kamaldeep is the Co-Coordinator of the program-shared his experiences regarding the evolving nature of teacher training programs in terms of enhancing academic leadership abilities and fostering institutional excellence.Esteemed Resource Persons who delivered the informative sessions included Prof. Ashwani Luthra, Guru Nanak Dev University, Prof. Hemlata Sharma, Kurukshetra University, Prof. Anjan Chakrabarti, Director-MMTTC, University of North Bengal, Siliguri, Prof. Divya U. Joshi, Director-MMTTC, Kumaun University, Prof. Neelika Arora, Director-MMTTC, Central University of Jammu, Prof. Anil Gupta, University of Jammu, Prof. Parmod Kumar, Director-MMTTC, Central University, Haryana, Dr. Shefali Nagpal, Director-HRDC, BPSMV, Sonipat, Prof. Nazir Ahmed Nazir, Director-MMTTC, University of Kashmir, Prof. Gauri Mahulikar, Sanskrit University, Mumbai, Prof. Preety Jain, Director-MMTTC, Kurukshetra University and Prof. Rajesh Dubey, Director-MMTTC, JNVU, Jodhpur besides the team members from SMVDU.
The general topics outlined by UGC for the NEP-2020 were the focus of the intensive academic sessions organized, such as, Holistic and Multidisciplinary Education, Indian Knowledge Systems, Academic Leadership, Governance and Management, Higher Education and Society, Research and Development, Skill Development, Student Diversity and Inclusive Education and Information & Communication Technology enhanced the knowledge of faculty members who were participated from various State/ Central Universities, Deemed to be Universities, Private Universities, Institutions of National Importance, Colleges and other Higher Education Institutions across India.Participants from distinguished Universities and Colleges across various regions of the country were specifically chosen to highlight the importance of providing training and skill development to faculty members for the effective and seamless implementation of NEP-2020 at their respective institutions.
A vote of thanks was also proposed by Dr. Anil K. Bhardwaj, who thanked Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU, for his constant support and guidance. They also thanked Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Registrar and Sh. Neeraj Gupta, Finance Officer, for their cooperation and help in organizing such programs at the University. Special thanks were extended to all participants from across the nation, with many presenting their findings online, emphasizing the initiative's broad scope and impact. Other Members of SMVDU-MMTTC included Prof. Raghvendra K. Mishra, Prof. Ankush Anand, Prof. Sharada M.
