JAMMU: Sunil Dimple, President of Mission Statehood, warmly welcomed the Amarnath Yatra pilgrims and batches of the Sadhu Samaj who are currently on their way to the holy cave via Rehari Chungi and BC Road in Jammu. Addressing a gathering, Dimple appealed to pilgrims from all states to visit Jammu & Kashmir in large numbers for the sacred Amarnath Yatra. He assured that adequate arrangements for shelter, medical aid, food, langars, and security have been made for their convenience and safety.

However, Dimple raised serious concerns about reports of thefts at railway stations and registration counters. "Some pilgrims have complained that their cash, mobile phones, luggage, and clothes were stolen by thieves and pickpockets," he alleged. He urged the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Deputy Inspector General (DIG), and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to ensure strict security at all yatra points and prevent such incidents.

Expressing worry over the decline in Amarnath Yatra registrations this year, Dimple demanded on-spot registration facilities for pilgrims arriving without prior registration. He further appealed to the government to ensure 24x7 clearance of landslides along the yatra routes to avoid disruptions. He questioned the Lieutenant Governor and the Chief Minister over the declining number of pilgrims and asked for clarity on the reasons behind it.

Dimple reassured tourists from across the country about their safety and urged them to visit Kashmir in large numbers. He stated that the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Defence Minister, Chief Minister, and Lieutenant Governor are all personally monitoring the security arrangements for the Amarnath Yatra and tourism in the region.

In conclusion, Dimple prayed for the restoration of Jammu & Kashmir's statehood and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to introduce a bill for its restoration in the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament. Other prominent leaders present included Narinder Choudhary, Sanjeev Kumar, Sunny, Happy, Ashok Kumar, Mohan Lal, and many others.
