SHOPIAN: In a significant effort to empower youth and enhance employment prospects, Industrial Training Institute, Shopian in collaboration with Employment Department Shopian today celebrated one-day apprenticeship Mela. This unique initiative aims to bridge the gap between aspiring candidates and leading industries through hands-on training and real-world work experience opportunities.
The mela was attended by employers from diverse sectors viz. tourism & hospitality, Logistics, Software, information technology, manufacturing and artificial intelligence sector. Superintendent ITI Shopian gave a detailed speech on the scheme and stressed how the scheme is a win-win situation for both industries and apprentices. He said the scheme is open for all with minimum qualification of 5th up to graduation. He further said the Mela is a golden opportunity for our youth to gain industry-relevant skills and kick start their careers and earn while learning.
During the mela, various companies gave presentations about companies and collected on-the-spot resumes from the potential Apprentices and job seekers. Counseling sessions on career paths and apprenticeship benefits, government incentives and schemes for apprentices were held.
