RAJOURI: Government P.G College, Rajouri, celebrated National Unity Day with a pledge ceremony and an inspiring address by Dr. K.K. Sharma, Principal of the college. The event aimed to reinforce the values of unity, integrity, and brotherhood, marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the architect of national integration in India.
The pledge was administered by Prof. Khaleeq Ahmed Qazi, NSS Programme Officer, in the presence of teaching and non-teaching staff, and students, who collectively vowed to uphold the unity and integrity of the nation. Meanwhile, the Department of Sociology, in collaboration with the NSS, IQAC, and the College Cultural and Literary Activities Committee, organised a one-day seminar on the theme "Perils of Corruption."
The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the impact of corruption on society and the importance of collective efforts to combat this social evil. Prof. Khaleeq Ahmed, Head of the Department of Sociology and NSS Programme Officer, welcomed the participants and conducted the seminar proceedings. Prof. Raina emphasized the importance of organizing such seminars to deepen awareness of the pervasive issue of corruption.
A series of impactful talks were delivered by faculty members and scholars, including Dr. Khalid Rayaz from the Department of Geography, Prof. Joginder Singh from the Department of Physics, and Dr. Lateef Mir, Head of the Department of Urdu, each of whom underscored the urgency of understanding and addressing the perils of corruption.
