SRINAGAR: Police observer ‘Thana Diwas’ at various locations, including Police Station Kupwara, Police Station Kralpora, Police Post Khurhama and Police Post Drugmulla, as part of an ongoing initiative to enhance Police-public relations and address their grievances effectively.
At Police Station Kupwara, the event was attended by Addl. SP Kupwara, Shri GM Bhat-JKPS, who engaged directly with community members from different areas. Participants shared their concerns and suggestions, many of which were addressed on the spot, while actionable points were noted for follow-up.
At Police Station Kralpora, DySP DAR Kupwara, Shri Syed Mujahid-ul-Haq-JKPS, presided over the event. The active public participation shows the public trust in the initiative. He emphasized the J&K Police's commitment to transparency and public welfare while ensuring attendees' concerns were heard and acknowledged.
At Police Post Khurhama, DySP PC Lolab, Shri Raeis Ahmad-JKPS, led the proceedings, attentively listening to the grievances of local residents. Immediate resolutions were provided where possible, and assurances were given for prompt action on other issues.
At Police Post Drugmulla, the event was attended by DySP Hqrs Kupwara, Shri Rafee Rather-JKPS, who interacted with attendees and addressed their concerns, further strengthening police-public trust.
Thana Diwas is conducted periodically across all Police Stations and Police Posts in the district and aims to bridge the gap between the police and the community. It provides a platform for citizens to voice their concerns directly and promote transparency, trust, and effective grievance redressal.
