BANDIPORA: Director Health Services Kashmir in collaboration with Bal Raksha Bharat (Save the Children) under SAANS campaign 2024-25 today organised a one day training programme at Mini Secretariat Bandipora. The programme being part of project ‘Breathe of Life’ aimed to strengthen the healthcare delivery system and to combat childhood pneumonia in the target group of 0-5 years.
It focused on the training on childhood pneumonia for District level cadre of trainers, medical officers, MLHPs, JSNs, BPMUs and other concerned from the Health Department. The session was led by District Resource Persons of the SAANS Campaign, Dr. Tafazul Ahmad Mir, Pediatric Consultant at District Hospital Bandipora, and Dr. Muzaffar Ahmad Qureshi, Pediatric Consultant at Community Health Centre (CHC) Hajin.
The training covered key aspects of pneumonia prevention, diagnosis, and treatment protocols, empowering the local healthcare workforce with critical skills to effectively manage childhood pneumonia cases. The resource persons highlighted various measures for assessment and management of childhood pneumonia.
They said that through training programmes, the campaign seeks to improve the capacity of healthcare workers in early diagnosis and intervention, ultimately saving lives and ensuring better health outcomes for children. Among others the training programme was attended by BMOs of Bandipora and Hajin, District Epidemiologist, District Programme management unit, Block Programme management unit and other concerned.
