SHOPIAN: In an unwavering commitment to championing the rights and education of the girl child, the Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women (SHEW) Shopian has amplified its role in advancing the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative. Today, SHEW Shopian organized an awareness programme at Government High School Dunaroo, Shopian. This event aimed to recognize the fundamental role that the education of girls plays in building a brighter, more equitable society.
SHEWâs team shared insights into the multifaceted impact of educating girls, emphasizing it as a keystone for societal development and progress. Later, educational kits, including school bags and essential stationery was distributed among the underprivileged girls, offering them crucial tools to pursue their studies. In total, SHEW Shopian has conducted 14 awareness programs across various schools of the district and distributed 364 educational kits to girls from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
