JAMMU: Adv. Purnima Sharma, Spokesperson BJP J&K and former Deputy Mayor of Jammu, has lambasted the National Conference (NC) for obsessing over the restoration of statehood while completely ignoring the promises it made to the people during elections. She stated that instead of crying over statehood, NC leaders should focus on fulfilling their poll commitments and addressing the pressing issues faced by the public.
In a press statement issued here today, Adv. Purnima Sharma strongly criticized the National Conference (NC) for failing to fulfill the promises made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in its election manifesto. Nearly four months after the elections, not a single commitment has been honored, leaving the public disillusioned with the partyâs leadership.
She pointed out that the National Conference had made several lofty promises, including providing 200 free electricity units, 13 LPG cylinders per year, a comprehensive state health policy, the immediate filling of vacant posts in government departments and many others during the Assembly polls. However, despite making tall claims, the party has shown no intent or action in delivering on these assurances. She questioned whether the NC leadership even remembers the commitments it made or if they were mere election gimmicks to mislead the public.
She further stated that instead of focusing on real issues faced by the people, the entire NC leadership is fixated on the restoration of statehood, continuously making it their primary agenda. Adv. Sharma reminded the party that the restoration of statehood is the prerogative of the Central Government, which has already assured the people that statehood will be restored at an appropriate time. She reiterated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have made a firm commitment in this regard, and their words carry more weight than the hollow rhetoric of NC leaders.
âNC should stop misleading the people and instead concentrate on resolving pressing issues such as unemployment, infrastructure development, and better governance. Mere political theatrics wonât earn them the trust of the public,â she added.
Adv. Purnima Sharma asked the NC leadership to stop crying over statehood and start addressing the grievances of the people, fulfilling their election promises. She asserted that the BJP, under the visionary leadership of PM Modi, is dedicated to the development of Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring its progress and prosperity.
