JAMMU: To raise awareness about mental health disorder and its timely redressal, Mission Shakti SANKALP HEW Social Welfare department Jammu, in collaboration and esteemed support of Govt college for women Bhagwati Nagar organised one day lecture cum workshop on the topic " Mental Health Disorders and Well- beingâ.
The session began with an informative lecture by Dr. Rajinder Kumar, a renowned expert in psychology and mental health. He specialises in the treatment of various psychiatric disorders like anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders. He covered different aspects of mental health, including common mental disorders, symptoms, early warning signs, and coping strategies.
Emphasizing the importance of seeking help, he discussed available resources and the role of support systems in managing mental health issues effectively. An interactive session followed allowing the participants to share their thoughts and experiences, ask questions, and seek advice from the expert. The open discussion helped to break down the stigma associated with mental health issues, fostering an environment where students felt comfortable discussing their concerns.
Dr. Meeru Abrol, Principal of the College, expressed appreciation for Mission Shakti SANKALP HEW and the resource person .Sheencouraged students to continue learning about mental health.
