JAMMU: The Science Club of Government College for Women Parade, under the patronage of Principal Dr Ravender Kumar Tickoo and guidance of Prof. Anjali Abrol (Convener, Science Club) today celebrated World Water Day by organizing Poster Making Competition and Power Point Competition on the theme “Glacier Preservation”.
The purpose of organizing the event was to highlight the steps required to preserve the Glaciers and to educate the students about the importance of Glacier Preservation for our future generations. Students from various Major subjects and semesters took part in the Poster Making Competition. The Judges of the event were Dr. Balbir Singh (HOD, Physics), Prof. Anita Sharma (Associate Professor, Mathematics) and Dr Shally Chadha (Associate Professor, Chemistry).
The first prize was bagged by Deepankshi, second prize by Amrita Sharma and third prize by Saliha Sultan in Poster Making Competition. Sonal Devi, Kanvi Hans and Amrita Sharma gave Power Point Presentation and all the participants of this category were then appreciated with the trophies. The event concluded with vote of thanks by Prof, Bhawandeep Kour. Dr Usha Bhagat, Dr Neha Gupta, Dr Manjulla Gupta, Dr Sushma Sharma and Dr Atiya Syed organized the event.
