SHOPIAN: Continuing its sustained efforts to curb the drug menace, Shopian Police, in coordination with the Revenue Department, conducted a special drive against wild cannabis in Berthipora, Karlcheck, Pinjoora, Imamsahib and Keegam areas of the district.

During the operation, dedicated teams identified and destroyed wild cannabis plants growing at various locations. The plants were eradicated on the spot to prevent their misuse for narcotic purposes and to check the availability of raw material for drug abuse.

The general public is once again urged to extend their cooperation to the police and promptly report any instances of illegal cultivation, possession or drug-related activities to the nearest police establishment. Police reaffirms its resolve to continue stringent action against drug abuse and its associated networks.
