BARAMULLA: Continuing its sustained campaign against illegal mining, J&K Police in Baramulla conducted a enforcement operation against illegal sand extraction in the Chakloo area, leading to the seizure of machinery used for the unlawful activity.
During the operation, Police seized one tractor (Chassis No. CH-MMNNAB01471), one sand suction motor along with a suction pipe, one water pump motor, one boat motor, and other equipment being used for the illegal extraction of sand from the riverbed. The action was taken against Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, Danish Ahmad Sofi son of Ghulam Mohammad Sofi and Shakir Ahmad Sofi son of Ghulam Mohammad Sofi all residents of Chakloo. Further legal proceedings have been initiated in accordance with law.
