In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family

SRINAGAR: The two day training programme on General financial rules for AOs/ Naazirs of High Court/District Courts of Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh concluded here today.

The session on the second day was led by M.Y Akhoon, Former District & Session Judge, High Court of J&K. He  discussed the duties involved in executing orders that can be challenging but are crucial in ensuring that justice is carried out effectively.

He focused on the practical aspects of executing Court orders and also discussed rules to be followed while execution of warrants, attachment and sales of property. When a warrant is issued for the attachment of immovable property, the defaulter is prohibited from transferring or charging the property in any way, he said.

He added that any saleable property belonging to the judgement debtor can be attached and sold which includes movable and immovable property and for immovable property a proclamation must be issued 15 days before the sale date. He  continued that on the Sale Date, the property must be sold to the highest bidder.

M.Y Akhoon also shared his vast experience and guided the participants on handling these responsibilities with precision and professionalism. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Director of J&K Judicial Academy,  Sonia Gupta. She thanked all the resource persons, participants (who joined both physically and Virtually and were around 180 in number) and also  Judicial academy staff for the all round success of the program as the participants actively participated in the sessions and made it more interactive.
